When visiting a new town or city, we look more at details that we would not normally see.
Candid shots not posed.
People and animals.
Capture ordinary observations that others miss.
Public place / domain.
Normally black and white but also some colour.
Society and its surroundings.
Urban / city decay.
Atmospheric weather.
Legally you can photograph someone in a public place and even have it published without their consent, using an editorial release. If at the time of photographing things get nasty then this could lead to a civil disorder, which is a different matter. Good luck.
