Black and White

By taking photos in colour you have the choice to keep them in colour or change some or all of the image to black and white on the computer.

By converting your images into black and white on the PC, contrast filter effect can be applied to make the colour tones quite different.

The main filters are red, green yellow, orange and blue.

When converting to black and white on the PC, red filter effect will make red tones lighter and make blue and green darker.

When converting to black and white on the PC, orange filter effect will make orange and red tones lighter and make yellow, blue and green darker.

When converting to black and white on the PC, yellow filter effect will make yellow, orange and red tones lighter and make blue darker.

When converting to black and white on the PC, green filter effect will make green tones lighter and make blue, orange and red darker.

When converting to black and white on the PC, blue filter effect will make blue tones lighter and make yellow, orange and red darker.

So a landscape with blue sky and some fluffy white clouds in black and white with a yellow, orange or red filter would produce a darker grey sky with fluffy white clouds.
